Arthur Guinness started brewing ales initially in Leixlip, then at the St. James's Gate Brewery, Dublin, Ireland from 1759. On December 31, he signed (up to) a 9,000 year lease at ?45 per annum for the unused brewery. Ten years later on 19 May 1769 Guinness exported his ale for the first time, when six and a half barrels were shipped to England. Pure Genius! The rest, as they say, is history!! I brought this beautifully presented fudge for my father as a birthday present, little did I or he know that I would be the one trying to get my hands on it! I have always loved fudge but never tried guiness, and it was just fantastic. It was the perfect SHARING gift, you get more than enough for the money and each piece is like a little bite of heaven. Great product! The tin it comes in is brilliant and great to have on display to store things in after eating the fudge. The fudge itself is amazing. It is soft fudge so no worries about teeth and fillings, it really does taste of Guinness but it is not too over- powering, the traditional fudge taste still comes through. Great product, thanks very much.
