As featured on Channel 5's The Gadget Show. If you grew up in eighties (and we’re not talking about being born in the 80s) but being a kid and driving your folks mad with new tech toys, then you’ll probably remember eighties toy BigTrak. Well, it’s back BACK for 2010! BigTrak is retro and cool, and brand new for 2010.
And for those who don’t remember, here’s a reminder!, BigTrak is a programmable, six-wheeled tank with a front mounted blue photon beam headlamp used for firing. The centre wheels are driven by two motors to allow change of direction. It features a 23-button keypad so you can punch your instructions into Bigtrak’s computer memory. Once you've done this, press GO and watch and listen as this educational toy responds to your keyed commands. With a 16 command memory, Bigtrak 2010 will execute 16 commands in one sequence, e.g. 'go forward 5 lengths', 'pause', 'turn 30 degrees right', 'fire phaser' and so on. There is a 'repeat' instruction allowing simple loops.
Where do I want Bigtrak 2010 to go? In what direction? How many units will it take to reach my goal? When do I want Bigtrak to fire? Do I want Bigtrak to return to me along a different course?
You can order Big Trak into a sharp or wide-angled turn, full circle, or even beyond that. BigTrak can even lurk silently before continuing on its course, and can fire either a single shot or a volley from its 'photon' cannon. Send Big Trak out of the room, around furniture and other obstacles, and back again!
And the really cool thing is that you can programme it to “deliver” a much needed item without even budging! Need to hand over the remote control but can’t be bothered moving? Simply programme BigTrak, place the item on the back and it will deliver without any complaints!
Easy enough for kids to learn, it’s so much fun that even adults won't be able to resist. Re-live your childhood with this 21st century Bigtrak 2010! A real 80's retro boys' toy!
Did you know...? Bigtrak appeared in the movie, ET (one of the most iconic movies of the eighties), with none other than Drew Barrymore! And remember, it's BigTrak, not Big Track!

I bought this for my husband for his 42nd birthday and it is the best thing I could have bought him. He said he always wanted one when he was a child, but never got one, and the look on his face when he opened the present was priceless.
The batteries were put in straight away and then the fun began. We have had the Big Trak going from one room to the other, firing at the cat and generally effortlessly from person to person through the various commands that you can program it with. We even have it set that it will park itself under the coffee table when not in use.
It is really easy to use, when setting the various commands in order to send it somewhere else it is simple enough, and it takes no time at all. The only thing is trying to figure out how many ‘steps’ it needs to take before you make it turn or fire but once you have that sorted it is simple. Our nine year old girl also thinks it’s great. In fact, she has asked for one for her birthday too!
All in all this makes a great gift for anyone of any age, and especially 'boys' who are old enough to remember it from the first time around!
